Using Slotting Cutters and Arbors
Build your own slotting cutter!

First select the kerf you need from the slotting cutter list. They can be combined in any way you want, using washers to help fine tune your stack of cutters. Three wing cutters will give you a nice, clean, and quick cut. Four wing cutters will produce a little smoother cut, but you need to slow the feed rate to give more time for chip removal.

Next, select the arbor shank size you need. Slotting cutter arbors include a B5 bearing for a 1/2" depth of cut, a nut to hold the slotting cutters on the arbor and two washers. The arbor spindle is a 7/8" and this leaves room for the arbor nut and about 1/2" for the cutters, bearing and washers. Made in the USA by Whiteside Machine Company.
