Carbide Tipped Jointer and Planer Knife Sets

Holbren can provide you with standard jointer and planer knife sets in three grades of cutting material. We also offer the ultimate upgrade with our Byrd Shelix jointer and planer heads.

These knives feature high end precision and are made to International Organization for Standards specifications. The process begins with an American Iron and Steel Institute forged steel salt bath heat treatment for consistent hardness. Then, with triple draw tempered to relieve stress it is precision ground to a fine finish and exacting tolerances.

High Speed Steel: Made with extra Vanadium for long life, the V2 is our newest exotic breed of HSS. It provides an equally long wear life and performance as M2-HSS, but it costs 25% less. Using higher levels of Vanadium to replace costly Molybdenum, we have developed a composite type of steel for incredible tool life and the lowest price of any HSS on the market. V2 has a 63 HRc and is easy to profile shape. This knife is best for long runs in soft or hardwoods.

We offer Carbide Tipped Planer Knives priced and packaged in sets of 3 knives or 4 knives as noted. These knives can be purchased in larger balanced sets for high speed planers (i.e. 6, 10, 20 to 32 knife heads).
